Rushen パトリース･ラッシェン
１９５４年９月３０日、ロス生まれ。
６歳の頃からピアノに触れ、１８歳の時に「モントルー・ジャズ・フェスティバル」に出演、賞も獲得。その後、Prestageと契約。７３年にはデビューアルバムを発表する。この後３枚を発表し、ジャズのキーボードとしての地位を確立。ソウル、ジャズ・ファンはもとより、クラブ系リスナーにまで絶大な支持を誇る。77年にリー・リトナーを中心にした“ジェントル・ソウツ”で、ファースト・アルバムを録音。初代メンバーはリトナーのほか、パトリース・ラッシェン、アーニー・ワッツ、デイヴ・グルーシン、ハーヴィー・メイソン、アンソニー・ジャクソンら。そこにアレックス・アクーニャやエイブラハム・ラボリエルなどロサンジェルス拠点のセッション・マンが加えてグループ・ワークを拡張。
